AMICO PURCHASES REMAINING OWNERSHIP OF BUFFALO OFFICE FURNITURE COMPANY BUFFALO, NY – Ownership of Buffalo’s best-known furniture company has changed hands. Kurt Amico, managing partner for MidCity Office Furniture has purchased remaining ownership of the company from Barry Cohen, MidCity’s former president. The sale was completed in early 2005 and was part of planned buy-out arrangement.

MidCity Office Furniture was founded in 1970 by Burton “Butch” Cohen, and operated from its well-known location at 1220 Main Street. In 2003, MidCity relocated to the Tri-Main Center in Buffalo where it operates a showroom, administrative offices and warehouse.

With over 20 years experience in the industry, Kurt has expertise in all aspects of the business. In 1991 Amico joined as a sales representative, in 2000 was promoted to vice president. In 2004, Amico became the company’s managing partner overseeing day-to-day management since 2004.

Kurt is very active in the business community and is on the Board of Directors for Buffalo Niagara Sales & Marketing Executives and Niagara Business Associate. He is also in the 2005 graduating class for UB School of Managements CEL program. He is a resident of Tonawanda.
